Get ready for the trip of a lifetime!

On your trip to Guatemala, you'll be welcomed by the local staff who will be your hosts for the week. You'll visit the homes and communities of sponsored friends and learn about their joys and challenges while experiencing the beauty of the Guatemalan people.

$650-$800

This covers food, lodging and most in-country transportation.
Airfare is not included.

Sample Itinerary

A detailed schedule will be sent one to two weeks prior to departure. Unbound will make every effort to offer the opportunity to attend Mass on Saturday night or Sunday.


Day 1
Travel to Guatemala City, the capital of the country. Local Unbound staff will welcome you at the airport. Stay the night in the capital.
Day 2
Depart for San Lucas Tolimán, located in the highlands of Guatemala on the shores of Lake Atitlán.
Day 3
Everyone's sponsored friends will gather for the day at the Unbound Regional Center. Celebrate with song and dance and enjoy the day with your sponsored friend.
Day 4-6
Experience the diverse, traditional cultures of Guatemala. Visit both urban and rural communities where Unbound works. Be welcomed into homes to better understand the dreams of families and the challenges of living in Guatemala. Take a boat ride across stunning Lake Atitlán to visit communities where Unbound works. Learn how youth and families are lifting themselves out of poverty.
Day 7
Return to Guatemala City. Take a few hours in the colonial capital of Antigua to sightsee and have lunch on your own. Spend the night in the capital.
Day 8
Depart Guatemala City.

November Trips (include hands-on activities)

Day 1
Travel to Guatemala City, the capital of the country. Local Unbound staff will welcome you at the airport. The group will stay the night at a hotel in the capital, near the airport.
Day 2
Travel to San Lucas Tolimán, located in the highlands of Guatemala on the shores of Lake Atitlán. Attend optional Mass at the cathedral or a local church.
Day 3
Everyone's sponsored friend will gather today at the Unbound Regional Center in San Lucas Tolimán. Celebrate with games, music and dancing and enjoy the day with your sponsored friends.
Day 4
Travel to a community where Unbound works. Experience the diverse, traditional cultures of Guatemala. Work alongside Guatemalan youth in their Unbound garden.
Day 5
Learn about coffee farming from Guatemalan families and spend time together picking coffee in the fields.
Day 6
Take a boat ride across stunning Lake Atitlán to visit communities where Unbound works. Be welcomed into homes to better understand the dreams of a family and the challenges of living in Guatemala. Appreciate the skills and expertise of Guatemalan families as they share about their livelihood.
Day 7
Return to Guatemala City. The group will stop in the colonial capital of Antigua on the way. Spend a few hours sightseeing and have lunch on your own. Spend the night in the capital at a hotel near the airport.
Day 8
Local Unbound staff shuttles travelers to the airport for their flight home from Guatemala City.
